Keyboard Recommendations
by: Ido from www.piano-play-it.com

Hi David,

Before you buy a keyboard there are a few points that you should bear in your mind:-
- the quality of the piano - its touch and sound.
- what do you "ask from your keyboard" as a workstation.
- is it portable?

The price of the keyboard is a result of the qualities of the piano and the workstation. Expensive instruments such as the Yamaha Motif have them both.
Could you wait a little bit more, save more money and buy a Motif? If not, I recommend you to write down what are the most important features for you.
Usually we take advantage of no more than 10% of the keyboards abilities, so consider for yourself which are the most important features for you.
If you are talking about composing and recording, the DGX630 is a very good instrument though there are more professional instruments.

You could also try to find a non-Yamaha keyboard such as Roland, Casio etc. These companies have excellent keyboards that can be use as professional workstations. Some of them are much cheaper than the Yamaha keyboards.

I haven't given you a specific model, but I hope that I have helped you to open your mind.

"Thank you for your lessons. I took piano lessons as a kid, and I've dabbled off and on for years. My music teacher taught me how to read music and hit all the notes, but I never felt like I was playing for real. I always felt like I was going through the motions, like a machine. Your lessons have changed that, so thanks."

Joshua White from U.S.A
