The Full Hand Position of the Beatles Yesterday piano tutorial.

During the Beatles Yesterday Tutorial we will limit ourselves to playing all chords within the range of F under middle C and F above middle C with the right hand.

That means that we have to play all five chords in the correct Chord Inversions .

Here are the suitable chord inversions of all chords within the given range.

F Major chord 1st Inversion F Major chord Root Position
Esus7 chord 1st Inversion A7 chord 3rd Inversion
Dm chord 2nd Inversion Bb Chord in the root position
C7 Chord in 2nd Inversion G7 Chord Root Position Asus7 chord in Root Position

We'll set the left hand on the C position starting from the lower C. Later on we will be asked to stretch our hand to the B note next to middle C and we'll go back to the lower C by performing a crossing over.

Beatles Yesterday Pop Groove

I suggest you first practice playing one chord for each bar (or sometimes two chords in a bar) before you move to the next level and add the groove.

The groove is a pattern in the right hand and the left hand that repeats through the whole song. Click here to learn more about how to groove.

Yesterday / Beatles

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away.
Now it looks as though they're here to stay.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Suddenly,
I'm not half the man I used to be,
There's a shadow hanging over me,
Oh, yesterday came suddenly.

Chorus:
Why she had to go
I don't know she wouldn't say.
I said something wrong,
Now I long for yesterday.

Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Why she had to go
I don't know she wouldn't say.
I said something wrong,
Now I long for yesterday.

Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
Mm mm mm mm mm mm mm.
