Beginner Christmas Piano Sheets

Nineteen carols, each one arranged three times: once for a hand that stays in a single position, once with a left hand part underneath, and once fuller for a player who is ready for it. Every sheet is free to print. And every carol can be heard, and watched on a keyboard, before a single note is played.

This is the same page you have in the book, playing. The lit key is the note sounding now, and the number on it is the finger that plays it. Follow the boxes below as they light: one box is one beat, a dash means keep holding.

How to use this page

Choose a carol and press play. The key that sounds lights up with the finger number on it, and the bracket above the keys shows which five keys the hand is covering and what that position is called. When the hand has to move, the bracket moves with it. Slow it down, loop one line until it is yours, then open the sheet for that carol and play it for yourself.

The nineteen carols, and what each one asks of you

The table says how long each carol is at level 1, which hands it uses, and whether the hand has to move at all. If this is your first Christmas carol, start with one that stays in a single position.

The books

Great Piano Christmas Hits

The same nineteen carols, written the way the numbers appear on the keyboard above. A drawing of the hand on every page shows exactly where to put it, and then the carol is one number for each finger and one box for each beat. Nothing to read, nothing to decode.

  • Three books, one for each level, and a fourth with the printed sheets for when you are ready for them.
  • Made to print and stand on the piano, so you can play without a screen.
  • Arranged and checked note by note, not generated.
