It Came Upon a Midnight Clear Piano Sheet Music, Free and for Beginners
Edmund Sears wrote the words in 1849, and the tune most Americans sing is Richard Storrs Willis's. It is the longest carol in this collection, thirty three bars, and it is calm from beginning to end.

How this arrangement is laid out
Level 1 is 33 bars for both hands, from E3 up to E4. The right hand begins with the thumb on C4, and it never has to move from there. The left hand sits with the little finger on F3, and moves twice. Level 2 fills the same carol out: 33 bars, reaching from F3 to A4, with 9 changes of hand position, so the hands travel much more.
Everything the right hand plays lies inside C position, so the fingers do the travelling and the hand stays still. The left hand starts in F position and shifts at bars 19 and 23.
Level 1 keeps both hands near the middle of the keyboard and gives the left hand the simplest part it can have. The right hand begins in D position and moves at bars 4, 7, 12 and 18 and 3 more. Those bars are the ones to practise on their own, slowly, until the move happens without looking down. The left hand starts in F position and shifts at bars 23 and 25.
