I agree Jamie,

The manual is good for telling you what certain controls can do, but not how to do it. All tips greatly appreciated.

Hi Jamie,

I completely understand your problem. Yamaha has some product lines that are rather complicated. The way to understand how to operate your keyboard is, at the beginning, to focus on the features that are necessary for your work.

The manuals are usually very detailed, but you will find it very beneficial if you relate one by one to just one chapter or topic that interests you.

In most cases we use the same features, when we play or make arrangements on the keyboard so don't try to understand everything right from the beginning.

If there is a member of our forum who owns a CP5 and has some tips for Jamie - , this is the place to help him...

I wish you much enjoyment and satisfaction from your new CP5

"Thank you for your lessons. I took piano lessons as a kid, and I've dabbled off and on for years. My music teacher taught me how to read music and hit all the notes, but I never felt like I was playing for real. I always felt like I was going through the motions, like a machine. Your lessons have changed that, so thanks."

Joshua White from U.S.A
