New Piano questions

Hi,
Hobart M. Cable is a very good brand.
However, this piano is almost 100 years old therefore you should check it very carefully before you take it.
I have a few students that got a free old piano from someone who just wanted to get rid of it.
They got a free piano, but they have spent a lot of money to fix it. Their mistake was that they didn't check it before they have taken it.
I'm not saying that all the old pianos are in bad shape; actually old pianos can be very good and unique due to the way that they were made and the special materials that had built the pianos.
The problem is that you can never know in which conditions was the piano kept through the years.
The best thing to do is to let a professional checking it. It costs a few bucks but after that you can be sure whether to take the piano or not.

We recommend you to read this article about buying a piano.
We also have a few interesting articles that will help you to learn important topics about the piano, such as: piano tuning, piano care tips, moving the piano and more.

Don't hesitate to ask us further questions,
