Playing Arpeggios
by: David from www.piano-play-it.com

Hi Fann,

So as I promised I made a piano tutorial for you and for all of you who want to find a nice way to fill in the chords in the right hand or as it is called in musical terms Playing Arpeggios

Click on the links to read about this issue in details...

It's a nice pop ballad... actually one of the best ever All Out Of Love.

In this tutorial we're going to focus on playing arpeggios with the right hand.

As I suggested there you don't have to follow the exact pattern I played but you can create your own patterns or play the same pattern but replace the order of the notes in the chord.

The secret behind playing interesting patterns in the right hand is playing with some syncopations. that means that you're going to deliberately upset the meter or the pulse by means of temporary shifting of the accent to a weak beat or an off-beat.

For example if I play four eight notes on each bear as I did in "All Out Of Love" the last eight note would be accented and would not resolve to another beat in the third beat.
By leaving it accented on a week point of the beat I create and interest in the pattern that creates a drive in the song.

I hope I was clear enough. Follow the tutorial and see for yourself.

Hope this helped

"Thank you for your lessons. I took piano lessons as a kid, and I've dabbled off and on for years. My music teacher taught me how to read music and hit all the notes, but I never felt like I was playing for real. I always felt like I was going through the motions, like a machine. Your lessons have changed that, so thanks."

Joshua White from U.S.A
