Home » Complete Chords Course » Learn Piano Chords - Introduction

Hi, welcome to the complete piano chords lessons. I'm glad you joined us.
You're probably curious to know how we're going to learn to play piano by chords.

Before I tell you how we're going to learn piano chords I want to make sure you're familar with the Piano Keys names.

Although it's not neccesarry, I recommend that you first go through the Beginners lesson course. before following the complete piano chords lesson.
During the next piano lesson for example, I'm going to demonstrate some intervals with notes and images. It's better if you could read the notes as well.

And now let's learn piano chords.
To begin with I'm going to teach you the basics of Musical Intervals.
Why are musical intervals so important? Because chords are made of combinations of different intervals.

We're going to learn to recognize these intervals both visually on the piano and also to recognize them by ear.

This leads me to the concept of how we're going to learn to play piano chords.
All in all I believe that we should trust on our musical ear.

I'm going to help you to develop your musical ear in this piano course.
However, if our ear misleads us we will approve our intuition with knowledge.
So, except for learning to play piano chords by ear I will show you how piano chords are built in the theoretical level. That's what we need musical intervals for.

Later on, I'm going to show you a few piano chords (Three or so) and then we're going learn how to play piano chords on the piano.

So, once we're familiar with three chords we're going to learn to accompany our first song.
Why accompanying? Because learning to accompany a song is fun, it's simpler then playing the melody and the harmony together and it will help us to learn the foundations of harmony in a very clear manner.

We'll play the first three chords song and then I will teach you how to play chord inversions which are form of the same chord in different position that will help us to connect from one chord to the other in a very musical way without performing many jumps on the piano.

After we're done with chord inversions I will introduce to more chords and every time a new chord will be introduced we will learn a new song that contains that new chord with the previous chords we've learned.

By working in this manner we will make sure that we learn the theory behind chords and implement our knowledge on the piano right away.

I think it's better to learn piano chords like this instead of learning all the different chords straight from the beginning without making beautiful music... and let me tell you, we have some really nice songs to work on in this complete piano chords lesson.

We will cover four kinds of chords in this complete piano chords lessons course: The major chords, the minor chords, the Diminished Chords and Augmented Chords.

Now, some of you have asked me if I know any good piano chord lessons on D.V..D's or books. Here are some very popular lessons I found on ebay. These lesson will help you to learn to play piano chords very efficiently. They're a great help along with this piano course.

Sometimes I will provide you with some piano technique lessons that will show you how to perform a certain "Trick" That will help you to make your playing more fluent (Like Crossing over for example).

So, you're ready to go? Trrrrrr....... Let's get moving to the first piano chords lesson where I'm going to introduce you to the different musical intervals!

"Thank you for your lessons. I took piano lessons as a kid, and I've dabbled off and on for years. My music teacher taught me how to read music and hit all the notes, but I never felt like I was playing for real. I always felt like I was going through the motions, like a machine. Your lessons have changed that, so thanks."

Joshua White from U.S.A
